How do I add a payment method? 💳

Before taking the steps shown here, keep in mind:

  • Make sure you're an admin of the ad account you're working on. You'll have to be one to manage an ad account's payment methods. Learn more about .

  • Check that the payment method you're trying to add is an .

  • If your ad account is set up for manual payments (meaning you add money to a balance on your account), you won't be able to add a payment method in the same way that's shown here. Also, some payment methods won't be an available option for you to use (such as PayPal). Learn more about .

Once that is done, you would want to click the Relaunch button from the campaign page to get it launched!

Why is my campaign saying I've reached my Facebook spending limit?

⚠️ If you're seeing an error that's related to reaching spending limit but you're not sure how to change that, read the following!

An account spending limit is an overall limit in your Facebook ad account for how much your ad account can spend across all the ad campaigns you're running. If you set an account spending limit, delivery of your ads will stop when that limit is reached to help ensure that you don't pay more for ads than you want to. This limit is optional, but it can help you control how much you're spending on Facebook ads!

To change your spending limit so that you can launch your campaign, you can:

  1. In the Set Your Account Spending Limit section, click Change.

  2. Enter the limit you'd like to use. You won't be able to set a limit less than 10% above what you've already spent. For example, if your current limit is $150 and you've spent $100, the minimum you can lower your limit to is $110.

  3. Click Update Limit.

  4. Edit your ad campaign in ToneDen.

  5. Finally, select Update Campaign to relaunch your ad campaign to Facebook.

Facebook is overly precautious on flagging ad accounts that may violate their advertising policies. They use a combination of algorithms and humans to determine if an ad is violating their policy.

By Facebook's advertising policies apply to an ad's content, audience, and the destination it links to. Please review the ad policies, your ads, and your website to ensure that they do not violate any terms.

Whatever the issue may be, follow this step-by-step guide to get your ads approved and running:

If your ad was unexpectedly disapproved then it's possible that Facebook's system has 1. incorrectly flagged your ad for not following their Advertising Policies or 2. determined that you are advertising political content.

We've recently seen an uptick in this message, as Facebook has begun to "ban" users from advertising who don't have two-factor authentication set up on their Facebook account, since lacking 2FA puts your account at risk of being hacked.
