How do I add a payment method? 💳

In short, the Payment Settings in Ads Manager is where you can add new payment methods to your ad account.

Before taking the steps shown here, keep in mind:

• Make sure you're an admin of the ad account you're working on. You'll have to be one to manage an ad account's payment methods. Learn more about ad accounts and permissions.

• Check that the payment method you're trying to add is an accepted payment option for Facebook ads.

• If your ad account is set up for manual payments (meaning you add money to a balance on your account), you won't be able to add a payment method in the same way that's shown here. Also, some payment methods won't be an available option for you to use (such as PayPal). Learn more about manual payments.

Once that is done, you would want to click the Relaunch button from the campaign page to get it launched!

Why is my campaign saying I've reached my Facebook spending limit?

⚠️ If you're seeing an error that's related to reaching spending limit but you're not sure how to change that, read the following!

An account spending limit is an overall limit in your Facebook ad account for how much your ad account can spend across all the ad campaigns you're running. If you set an account spending limit, delivery of your ads will stop when that limit is reached to help ensure that you don't pay more for ads than you want to. This limit is optional, but it can help you control how much you're spending on Facebook ads!

To change your spending limit so that you can launch your campaign, you can:

1. Go to your Payment Settings.

2. In the Set Your Account Spending Limit section, click Change.

3. Enter the limit you'd like to use. You won't be able to set a limit less than 10% above what you've already spent. For example, if your current limit is $150 and you've spent $100, the minimum you can lower your limit to is $110.

4. Click Update Limit.

5. Edit your ad campaign in ToneDen.

6. Finally, select Update Campaign to relaunch your ad campaign to Facebook.

⚠️ It's a total mistake

Facebook is overly precautious on flagging ad accounts that may violate their advertising policies. They use a combination of algorithms and humans to determine if an ad is violating their policy.

⚠️ Your ad may not follow Facebook's advertising policies

By Facebook's advertising policies apply to an ad's content, audience, and the destination it links to. Please review the ad policies, your ads, and your website to ensure that they do not violate any terms.

⚠️ There is an unpaid balance. (In this case, check here to pay this through FB).

How to Appeal a Disabled Facebook Ad Account

Why did Facebook disapprove my ad or ad creative and how can I get them to approve it?

If your ad was unexpectedly disapproved then it's possible that Facebook's system has 1. incorrectly flagged your ad for not following their Advertising Policies or 2. determined that you are advertising political content.

⚠️ Violating Advertising Policies:

For the first option, if there's nothing indicating that you are violating their policies, the best course of action is appealing your ad to get it running. This takes a few minutes and usually guarantees that Facebook doesn't flag your ads in the future. To start the appeal on the disapproval, go here.

How to Appeal a Disapproved Facebook (or Instagram) Ad

⚠️ Advertising Political Content:

Facebook requires that advertisers go through an approval process prior to running political ads on Facebook. While you might not feel that you are not advertising political content, Facebook has a very broad definition of what is political, and for them it's better to err on the side of caution with flagging these sorts of things.

We recommend you go through the process by following this Facebook support doc. This should allow your ads to get approved!

Why is Facebook saying that I am banned from using Facebook products or that I need Two-Factor Authentication to launch my campaign?

If you're receiving an error message that says Facebook has disabled your ability to use Facebook advertising, then it's likely because you haven't yet activated Two-Factor Authentication.

We've recently seen an uptick in this message, as Facebook has begun to "ban" users from advertising who don't have two-factor authentication set up on their Facebook account, since lacking 2FA puts your account at risk of being hacked. You can check whether you have 2FA set up at this link. If you don't yet have it set up, you can do it from there. Once that's done, you should be able to resume the campaign!
