How to Link an Ad Account to Business Manager

A step-by-step guide on how to link an Instagram account to a Facebook Page.

Why is this necessary?

In order to the most powerful audience types for your campaign's targeting, you'll have to link your Facebook Ad account to a Business Manager account if you haven't already.

This process is essential to complete to help you get the most out of Eventbrite Boost!

How to Create

In order to move an ad account into Business Manager, you'll need to first have created a business manager account. If you haven't made one, check out our article above on how to build a business manager account!

Pro Tip: Facebook may require you to add your ad account by entering the Ad Account ID instead of automatically moving the ad account, the following steps will show you how to do that below.

How To Move Your Ad Account Into Business Manager

Once you've created a Business Manager account and would like to link your ad account, navigate to Ad Accounts section under Business Manager Settings!

You'll want to paste the ID of the ad account you want to move (if you don't know how to do this see below).

Make sure you also assign yourself and any other members of your organization to your ad account using the "Add People" button!

Pro Tip: If other individuals use the ad account you've moved into a Business Manager account, make sure to give them account access via Business Manager settings here.

How to find your Ad Account ID

You can find your Ad account ID by navigating to Ad Account settings or Ads Manager. We'll be copying the ad account ID in the url, so either place will work!

After navigating to either, use the dropdown in the top right to select the ad account you want to move! The ID of the selected Ad Account will be shown in the url, so follow the gif below to find where to copy the ID.

If you can't add an ad account to a Business Manager:

  1. The ad account you're trying to add may have already been added by another business. An ad account can only be owned by one Business Manager. Instead, you can request access to the ad account.

  2. You have already added a personal ad account to Business Manager. You can only add one ad account from your personal Facebook account into Business Manager. Instead, you can create a new ad account in Business Manager or you can request access to another ad account.

  3. You haven't spent on the ad account in currently in your Business Manager. nIn order to have more than 1 ad account in Business Manager, you'll need to spend a bit on the inital one before you can move or create another!

  4. You've reached the 5 ad account limit for adding new ad accounts to your business. There's currently no available option to request additional ad accounts. Your ad account limit increases based on your advertising spend.
